"You are not a disturbance at all," William said gently, "Please come into my office. You can help me with this mountain of paperwork to start off with."
William had pointed his desk which was filled with paperwork almost up to the ceiling. He knew that it was a lot of paperwork but it did need to get done. He was sympathetic towards Lila, but time was off the essence if they were going to make sure everything was still in order.
"We need to make sure that everything is still balanced. I know that it is a big responsibility, but I simply can’t get all of this work done by myself."
"Of course! I’ll lend ya a hand sir." Wiping her cheeks of any tear streaks. Hearing her stoic boss admit the work was becoming overwhelming even for him. She knew it must have been a "shit ton" as some liked to call a heavy work load.
Agreeing to help him, she followed close behind the boss. He reminded her a lot of her grandfather. A stoic man she was always afraid of him when she was a little girl. Though as she got older and got to know the man. Hearing the stories her grandmother would tell. He had really warmed her heart, earning a special place always.
"Is there any chance that all this chaos will lift soon sir?" The eager girl asked adjusting her glasses.
William had been having a rather busy day in the office again due to Ronald taking a holiday. William was up to his neck in paperwork, but despite that tried to keep calm and collect. He would just have to wait until more people came in to help him lighten his load.
That is when he saw someone as he peeked out of his office door. “Ah Miss Lila, do you think you can help me out?” Will asked in a polite business like voice only realizing a moment later that he had scared her, “I deeply apologize it was not my intent to startle you.”
William had no intention of treating her badly after all she was new. But despite that he needed all the help he could get. But upon looking at her closely as he adjusted his spectacles did he realize that she had been crying. “Would you care to tell me why you have been crying?”
Wiping her eyes quickly she didn’t care if it smudged her make up. “Oh I’m so sorry sir. I didn’t mean to be a disturbance.” Ignoring his question as to why she seemed so disgruntled.
"I’m available sir, what is it that you needed help with?" She knew lately that the work load had been taking it’s tole on everyone. Any help anyone offered, you knew to snatch the opportunity while you could.
